Andy began his career straight out of school with an apprenticeship in agricultural engineering at Massey Ferguson in Scotland. He then spent 13 years in Africa working in the oil and gas exploration industry, specialising in the repair and maintenance of drilling and extraction equipment. Upon returning to the UK, he founded Hays Recycling, focusing on the purchase and recycling of surplus electronic and telecommunications equipment. Over 28 successful years, Andy built long-standing relationships with recycling partners across the USA and Europe. Hays Recycling eventually evolved into what is now Lone Star Recycling Ltd. Today, the company is proudly run on a daily basis by his daughter Ashley and daughter-in-law Stacey, who continue to carry forward Andy’s legacy with the same passion and commitment.

Upon completing her education, Ashley began her career in special effects makeup for film and television by relocating to London to train at the prestigious London Makeup Academy. After gaining experience as a freelance artist across the capital, she furthered her expertise with additional training in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Upon returning to London, she continued working in the industry until taking time out to raise her three children. Ashley’s involvement with the family business began early—working alongside her father from the age of 11 during weekends and school holidays. Her longstanding interest and hands-on experience laid a strong foundation for her eventual transition into the business. She officially took over the day-to-day operations of Lone Star Recycling Ltd four years ago and continues to lead the company with dedication and a forward-thinking approach.

With 16 years of experience in financial services, Stacey brings a positive, solutions-focused approach to her work. Her warm and approachable demeanour, combined with her professionalism and dedication, ensures tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. She is currently focused on expanding our UK inventory, driving growth and strengthening supplier relationships across the region.
Richard Miller

Richard began his career with a BT apprenticeship in telecommunications before expanding his expertise into sound, lighting, and video systems, eventually specialising in mailing machines. With a strong background in electronics and field support, Richard brings a wealth of experience to every role he takes on. Today, he continues to support Lone Star Recycling Ltd with his exceptional knowledge and technical insight — a truly invaluable member of the team.
